Automated tracking, intelligent classification, and full control in one place

How automatic trip detection works
No button to press. No manual start. CarSavvy runs in the background and logs every kilometre automatically.
Turn on Drive Detection and CarSavvy takes care of the rest. Using your phone’s motion and GPS sensors, Drive Detection automatically logs each journey from start to finish.

Auto classification based on your schedule

Auto trip classification
Tell CarSavvy your work schedule and the app classifies every trip for you. Prefer to do it yourself? Swipe right for business, swipe left for personal. Either way, your work trips stay clearly separated from personal ones.

Manual trip logging
Prefer to add a trip yourself? You can log any journey manually — just enter the date, distance, and purpose. Great for trips you made before downloading the app or times you left your phone at home.

Shift Mode
Shift mode lets rideshare and delivery drivers log an entire shift as one session instead of individual trips. No route recorded — just the kilometres and time you need. So you never miss the deductible travel the platforms don’t track.

Trip tracking for teams and businesses
Whether you run company vehicles or reimburse employees for kilometres driven, CarSavvy keeps every trip accounted for.
Add your team to CarSavvy, share access to your vehicles, and get a clear view of every kilometre driven. No chasing records, no guesswork, just accurate data when you need it.

Frequently Asked questions
Everything you need to know about CarSavvy, how it works, and getting started.
Use an app that records your trips automatically, so you don't have to remember to write anything down. In CarSavvy, turn on Drive detection, set Location to Always and pick your default car. Trips then record themselves. Swipe each one to Business or Personal, and after 12 weeks export your logbook report as a CSV file for your tax agent.
Yes. With Drive detection on, CarSavvy notices when you start driving and records the route and kilometres in the background, with no start or stop button. For it to work, set Location to Always and allow Motion & Fitness. Turn on Bluetooth if you use Car audio detection, and Notifications if you want trip start alerts.
Turn on Car audio detection and link each car's Bluetooth or wired audio to the right vehicle. CarSavvy then assigns each trip to the car you're actually in. Also turn on Ignore connectionless trips: if your car's audio isn't connected, the trip isn't recorded. That keeps walks, public transport and lifts with friends out of your logbook.
Yes. Set Tracking rules with your work hours, for example Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. Trips in those hours are marked Business and the rest Personal. Save Favourite locations like home, the office or a regular client so trips match them automatically. Add Reason tags such as Client visit or Site inspection to classify trips in one tap.
Add it as a manual entry as soon as you can. Tap the plus button, then New Trip, then Create a manual entry. Add the reason, start and end addresses and times, and either your odometer readings or the distance. The ATO expects each trip to be recorded at the end of the journey or as soon as possible after.
Yes. Open the Trips tab and go to Journal, which lists every trip you've logged. Tap any trip to change its start and end times, add or change the reason, switch it between Business and Personal, or delete it. New trips wait in Pending Trips until you classify them.
Yes. Turn on Shift option in Trip settings, then tap the plus button and Begin a shift. Enter your starting odometer reading and drive as usual. When you finish, tap End Shift and enter your closing reading. The whole multi-stop shift is saved as a single entry instead of dozens of short trips.
Yes. The Forever Free plan includes trip tracking for up to 15 trips a month, which suits occasional work driving. If you drive for work most days, or you're running a 12-week logbook, Basic gives you unlimited trip tracking for $6 a month, or $5.10 a month billed annually.
